Cresylic acid

Cresylic acid is an industrial mixture of methylphenols (cresols) and xylenols. It is primarily used as a chemical intermediate in the manufacturing of synthetic resins, antioxidants, and plasticizers. It also acts as an active solvent in wire enamels and paint strippers, and as a potent disinfectant.
